Being pregnant is such an emotional time. For me, it was a unique blend of excitement, nervousness, and anticipation. Doulas can be a wonderful help through this process. I’ve compiled a list of doulas in Atlanta for you, who are dedicated to working with you towards a positive birth experience.
Why hire a doula? They provide support to both expectant mothers and their families before, during, and after birth. Most relationships with a doula begin a few months before your due date. While they don’t provide medical care, they can be present during the birth to assist in non-medicated pain relief options and to provide information and emotional support.
- The Atlanta Doulas: Melissa and Stefanie attend births in all of the major Atlanta-area hospitals, the Atlanta Birth Center and home births attended by a certified midwife. They offer birth doula services, post partum services and lamaze classes. They strive to provide non-judgmental support to the families they serve.
- Labor of Love Doula and Childbirth Services, Inc.: founded in 2000, by a midwife and Atlanta native, they have served over 4300 families. They offer labor doulas and postpartum doulas as well as well as childbirth and breastfeeding classes.
- Two Doulas And You: offers free consultations and they work in teams, meaning you get two doulas to help you. They offer birth and postpartum support as well as virtual and in-person classes.
- Atlanta Birth Doula: also offers free consultations with their head doula, Stephanie. They emphasize community support and offer birth and postpartum support. Their doulas are trained through several different organizations and are committed to ongoing education.

- Atlanta Family Doulas: serves families throughout the metro Atlanta area by providing emotional, physical and educational support. They make an impact on the community by sponsoring the Pamper Me, Baby! Diaper Drive.
- Atlanta Doula Collective: describes itself as a maternal health community for Black families. They are a collective of doulas who have agreed to provide care at a reduced rate with the goal of reducing mortality rates for Black mothers and infants.
